Meet Where and When?

Drop off/Pick up will be at Bond Park in Petaluma (near the playground on Banff Way).

Meet June 20 @ 5am, leave asap

Return June 23 @ approx 5pm

Where are we going?

The exact trails will be determined closer to the trip based on weather, snow, smoke, and other conditions. We will hike 2-4 miles the first 2 days and the 3rd day will be a rest day so that we have time to relax, swim, play games, and explore our surroundings. And then our last day tends to be the longest with stronger legs, lighter packs, and milkshakes in our near future. We have lots of itineraries to choose from and amazing guides lined up to accompany our trekkers on an adventure to remember!

In the past, we have gone to Five Lakes Basin and Emigrant Wilderness. These videos of past trips give you an idea of what to expect:

Sample Itinerary:

Day 1: Meet at 5am, load cars, to-go breakfast available for kids, final questions answered/paperwork confirmed, drive to trailhead, hike 2-4 miles, set up camp, swim & relax, make dinner, campfire (if permitted) and games, sleep

Day 2: Up at dawn, hike 2-4 miles with breaks and lunch as needed, set up camp, swim & relax, dinner, etc. (Up at dawn?! Hiking in the heat is the WORST so we will aim to be at our next camp before it gets hot. Then we can enjoy the heat of the day relaxing in the sun or shade and swimming in a fresh mountain lake! Ahhhhhh!)

Day 3: Rest day to swim, play games, and relax

Day 4: Leave time determined by nature of return hike, hike 4-6 miles with breaks and lunch as needed, final swim or dip in a creek?, stop for burgers and milkshakes, arrive home – tired, dirty, and happy 🙂
