Out ‘n About Adventures is an outdoor and travel company created to give youth the opportunity to experience nature and international travel in a way that is challenging but fun. We help them build confidence and memories as they stretch their limits tackling the inevitable challenges of those environments.
Meet the Team
Holly Hamm, founder and lead guide – I started backpacking when I was three years old and absolutely love to share the beauty, skills, and life lessons that come with being in the backcountry. My goal is to guide your kids in learning leadership and wilderness skills, building confidence, and creating community while identifying their own unique contributions to the group. At the same time, they will experience the joy and freedom of being in the outdoors and away from the noise, commotion, and distraction of everyday life.
Dan Lachenbruch, lead guide – Dan is a retired firefighter who spends much of his free time in the outdoors. He has vast knowledge in wilderness first aid as well as search and rescue. He also happens to be a terrific story teller and one of the most positive, energetic, and funny people I know. He will keep us moving and laughing even on the toughest days.
Kody, lead dog – Kody’s two favorite things are hiking and swimming so he makes the perfect furry companion. He will cover at least twice the mileage because he likes to make sure the group stays together. He’s very committed to Leave No Trace so he always cleans up any dropped food. He also loves to lick faces and is great for a snuggle when you’re feeling down…. so long as you scratch his belly too.
